A national conference on “Marketing of Services-strategies for growth” was organized on November 6,2004. The conference provided a platform to distinguished academicians, management students, research scholars, professionals, economists, business analysts and executives for intermingling of views, ideas on the themes of the conference. The objective was to create a fresh knowledge base thereof and provide a direction to the business, academia and policy makers to effectively cope with future, challenges enveloped in a phase of mystery.

The chief guest for the valedictory session was Mr. S. Lakshminarayana, Regional officer AICTE NW region, Chandigarh, Mr. Keshwani DIG BSF was the guest of honour. Mr. Ravi Mathur, Jt. Sec. HRD Ministry honored us with his presence at the inaugural function. Mr. Kapil Malhotra DGM Mktg. Kirloskar, Dr. D.K. Baluja MS Jaipur Golden Hospital, Mr. Ashish Garg Dir. Vilabs, Mr. V.K.Mehta Sr. DGM Mktg. BHEL, Mr. S.T.Kalairaj AGM Mktg. Panacea, Prof. Mrs. Sudesh presented their research papers. The participation from all sections in full swing depicted the success of the conference. Dr. Sandeep Goel and Mrs. B.R.Bhardwaj wore the crown on the successful completion of the event.

Workshop on Team Building & Conflict Management

A day long workshop by leading management guru Ms. Rashi Kaushik Yadav was conducted on Sept 11 and Sept 25, 2004 respectively. The workshop was attended by the leading executives from corporates and the students of the institute. The coordinator for the event was Mr. Gagan Grover.

Another initiative has been instigated by Mr. Ashok Malhotra and Mr. Shankar Chatterjee wherein students are picked up in a predetermined sequence and weekly workshops are conducted to groom the overall personality of the students. The workshop aims to imbibe team building spirits in the would be entrepreneurs. The workshop is an amalgamation of various management games and role-plays to provide valuable and in depth insights in the area of team supervision and administration.

Paper titled “Developing management talent in India. A few lessons for SAARC Institutions” by Dr. S.S. Vernekar co-authored by Dr. K. Subramaniam was presented at South Asian Management Forum held from 28th Nov. to 1st Dec. 2004 at Lahore, Pakistan.
Paper titled “Product Liability and Marketing responsibility in the Globalised Economy” by Dr. S.S.Vernekar was published in Indian Journal of Applied Sciences Vol.I July 2004
Paper titled “Values, Ethics & Corporate Social Responsibility” by Dr. S.S. Vernekar & co-authored by Dr. K. Subramaniam has been accepted for presentation at 3rd International Conference on “Globalisation & Competitiveness” at IIT Kharagpur.
