An IT Festival “Techspan” was organized on 24th-25th November, 2003. The event focused on latest trends in the IT industry viz. hacking, designing applications, creation of chat rooms, programming in C & Linux followed by events like case studies, IT quiz, extempore and various cultural events.

Speaking on the occasion the Chief guest Shri Thirunavukkarasar, Minister of State (C & IT), Govt. of India highlighted that in the emerging knowledge driven economy, Information Technology has become an integral part of business. He advised the students to upgrade their skills continuously to keep pace with the ever changing IT and the business environment. The minister dwelt upon the various innovative schemes for IT such as Vidya Vahini and Gyan Vahini programmes.

Director, Dr. S. S. Vernekar in his address appreciated the contributions made by the Indian IT industry. This event provides a platform for amalgamation of infotainment with edutainment. The prize distribution ceremony was graced by the Hon’ble guest Mr. Shekar Borker, Co-Chairman, Expert committee on HRD, ASSOCHAM. He admired the contributions of BVIMR in inculcating quality education in management discipline and carving the careers of academies and congratulated the winners in various events.

Marking the occasion with their auspicious presence, various speakers from the IT world dwelt on IT related themes. To a cite a few, Mr. Puneet Gupta from Indus Logic, Mr. Hardeep Gill from MAAC, Mr. Sahil Sahore from Blossom Well, Mr. Rajneesh Makhyak from Convergys India Ltd., Mr. Vikas Vats and Mr. Ashish Khurana delivered their worthy thoughts on BPO Scenario, E-Commerce, Creations by MAAC studio in Multimedia, Psychology of Web sites and Search Engines, The relevance of an interview and Motivation, respectively.

The IT fest enjoyed the participation from some of the most prominent B-schools in and around Delhi. They are JIMS Rohini, JIMS Kalkaji, IMS Noida, Ideal Institute of Management Gaziabad, DAV (IM) Faridabad, Bharati Vidyapeeth’s College of Engineering etc. All the events were judged by some of the eminent corporate personalities like Mr. Harish Kaushik from Birla Soft, Mr. Sony Monga from IBM Global, Mr. Dhreej Minocha from Soft Pro, Mr. Pankaj Sharma, Ms. Rachna Kapoor from STG and Mr. Mukesh Bansal from Saraswati Studio. The event was co-ordinated by Prof. Satish Kumar who left no stone unturned to accomplish the mission of delivering excellence in IT field via this event.
