A
One Day National Lever Workshop on intellectual
Property Rights was held on 14th March 2003.
The guest speaker for the event was Dr.
Sudhir Kumar Jain, Executive Director of
NESBUD, Ministry of SSI and Professor at
IIT Delhi.
Dr. Sudhir Kumar Jain started with the need
for awareness of IPR in the current global
scenario with respect to the Industry, the
Academia and all the concerned members of
the society.
As per statistics of 2001 the proportion
of Patents registered in US between domestic
& foreign is in the ratio of 50:50 and
where as in India it is in the ratio of
20:80. Further about 85% of patents registered
worldwide have completed their patents tenure
and which can have commercial exploitation.

its wide spread impact on Agriculture,
Pharmaceutical and Health Care Industry,
