Rules And Regulations

  • Strict silence should be maintained in the Library / Reading Room. No discussion in any case would be allowed. If anybody found guilty will be liable for disciplinary action, which may include cancellation of his/her Identity Card.
  • The student will be provided Identity Card. Against Identity Card,two books will be issued for 7 days but may be recalled earlier if urgently required by the Institute.
  • Due dates for returning the books should be followed other wise fine Rs. 2 per day will be charged till the returning the books.
  • If the student does not return the book (s) even after two months, he / she will loose the right of borrowing books.
  • Loss of the book should be reported immediately in writing to the Librarian replacement charges and fine must be paid immediately.
  • Books Lost, defective or spoiled in any way shall have to be replaced or the borrower shall pay double the cost of the book if it is an Indian publication and three time the cost of the book if it is a foreign publication PLUS Late FINE, (if they fail to replace the book till the returning the books).
  • Ear – marking on pages of book, marking or writing on pages with ink / pencil / highlighter, tearing or taking out pages etc. will amount to damage of the book, unless the borrower points out any type of damage, at the time of borrowing of book he / she shall be liable to replace the book or pay the cost (as mentioned in above rule).
  • Books and Journals are to be borrowed in person.
  • Rare periodicals and reference books will not be issued and therefore it should be used only in the Library.
  • Exchange of Identity Card is strictly prohibited as it is not transferrable.
  • Books may be renewed on request provided enough copies are available in library.
  • Personal belongings including Books and other printed material will not be allowed in the Library. Students and Staff should deposit their own textbooks, textbooks borrowed from the Library.
    And any other printed material keeps them safely in the property counter. They will be permitted to carry note books and white papers only into the Library. .
  • Students are advised not to disorder the books on the racks from its original position and maintain the decorum in the Library.
  • If student is found to misuse the Library / Reading Room, he / she may be disallowed to use the Library.
  • While entering the Library students are required to carry their identity card and should make proper record in entry register.
  • Production of “NO DUES CERTIFICATE” from the Library is essential for obtaining the hall ticket for appearing in the examination or receiving marks sheet / degree.
  • If the help of the Library staff is required, they may be approached-but in a polite manner.

Audio –Visual (Digital Library)

Students can use Digital Library and avail benefits of online journals subscribed by the BVIMR Library.

BVIMR Library offers substantial collection of CD – ROM database

  • While entering the digital Library section and using the Internet service, students are required to make proper record in entry register.
  • The Students may borrow video / audiocassettes, CDs, CD-ROMs etc. from the Library to be used in the Institute.
  • Cassettes / CDs will be issued in the reading room account of the students (s). In case of any damage to the cassettes/CDs or the equipment, the student (s) who have borrowed will have to compensate for the same. If the entire class used the cassettes / CDs, all the students in the class who are present on that particular day will have to share the costs involved.
  • Cassettes / CDs etc. cannot be taken home. In case of non-compliance, the student will have to pay a fine, which will be decided by the Director.
  • Students and Staff are advised to enter into the Library from lending sections of the “WAY IN” & they have to leave through “WAY OUT”.
  • Books will be issued / returned from Monday to Friday 9:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M., Saturday 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., Sunday 09:30 A.M. to 04:00 P.M.
